Alright, Epic games I hate doing very long threads of why something happened and all that but I'm doing it anyway for the OG's. This is obviously not OBJECTIVE! This is SUBJECTIVE, but I speak to make Fortnite Battle Royale better for most people. I am going to state before you click read more is that the OG's are an important part of your game fan base and you want to keep them as long as possible (A little advice from a small creator). What I'm going to be going over first is how you ruined Fortnite BR for most of the player base (I will now Shorten Fortnite Battle Royale to BR). This first Paragraph is about something I saw in a video. I thought it was a good point so I will be bringing it up. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you made BR into something to squeeze money out of kids, I don't blame you, I develop games myself, and this is perfectly normal, but it ruined the game. I believe the origin of this is from BR FR-tvrs such as Ali-A, Logan Paul (Kinda), and Ninja. Their Fan Base is mainly 8 yr olds, and this attracts kids to your game which can easily make you money because most of them are tryhards that buy everything they can from your successful game. My and other OG's guess that you add cosmetics to MILK THE F**K out of these kids, but we only guess that. So cosmetics ruined the game because you put less money and energy to creating cool and unique updates like a good gun or new LTM/aspect. Like the newest gun, I call "Spectre" (Because STW has that name for it), it's just the suppressed SMG but debatably better. It's not unique! But I'll talk about that in my next point. This point is that you add updates weekly, which makes 8 yr old tryhards interested. But from my experience, these updates sometimes add bugs and glitches because you only put a week's worth of energy into it. I'd much rather have monthly updates that add unique things and improve on gameplay rather than weekly cosmetics. Another point is you're running out of originality. Like I mentioned in Paragraph 1 (Which I'll be referring to as Para1, Para2, ETC.) You added a "Spectre" which is just the Suppressed SMG but not suppressed. All lot of the skins you DO add are just different color schemes of the original "Noob Skins". Something unique you should add is a flamethrower. There is nothing else like it in the game and it can change how the entire game plays out, something real players are looking for. Maybe add a third health bar? It would make the player a brute, Once again, Unique. Even the skins in BR (As I mentioned in Para1) are unoriginal. You are improving on that, but cosmetics are not the point. There's not much more to say so I'm going to list some examples. Flamethrower, 3rd Health Bar, Cluster Bomb, Charge Rifle (Like the Zapatron), Back Shield, Bounce Grenade, Riot Sheild. Those are just some things I can think of from the top of my head. Point 3 is Small but Impactful and the atmosphere. The music and sound effects. Although, Para3 and Para1 kind of connected, I'm making it a separate Para. If you ask any OG, they at least remember how good the music was Season 1-2. Even the original BR music was Nostalgic. This is such a common point that I will mention this. Whenever the OG's (Including me) heard this music, it was just satisfying. They all said how this would remind them of just something they couldn't explain. Something they felt, but couldn't properly express. But the new music to the majority of the fanbase is just "Oh..... Ew" (I got opinions from randoms, friends, and youtube comments, and a lot of them)The music just doesn't click in a special way for them. (I mentioned this subjective topic because that's why I'm making it) And real quickly, some OG's such as me, friends, ETC, liked when the SFX where simple and not so vibrant, but this is okay and I won't go deeper because the SFX are great compared to other games. Para4 is just examples for Unique and Interesting LTM's that I didn't mention because I didn't want the Para getting too long. - Husk Infection. Normal Battle Royale except all 100 (or 25) players are on the same team. They still collect the loot and resources but the storm is scattered into groups that expand as the match goes on. The enemies are AI called "Husks" (From your STW game mode) You would have to survive something like 8 minutes and more variants of the husks will be added every minute or so. Supplies would be limited but the storm wouldn't damage you. this would be for 8 yr old tryhards that call you're main game mode trash even though they've never tried or seen it yet, This would be a good way to advertise your (personally) better game mode to the BR players. - Power. Normal Battle Royale, but the center of each eye of the storm has a power that will temporarily make the player a semi-god. Like infinite ammo for 1 minute, or 1,000 HP for 30 Seconds. Obviously, these will have to be more balanced. I'm only listing those two because if you decide to read this I want to keep some things for you to think about. Para5 is about how you spend too much time on cosmetics in BR and not enough about anything STW, although I'll make it brief because I'm talking about BR and not STW. Short "Summary" about what I would say: Spend a little more time in the game mode you are (what I would guess) proud of instead of the secondary game mode. The 6th point is a more vivid version of a point I made in Para1. I said Updates and how they should be changed. I know many people who agree with this and I just want to go deeper in. Instead of a weekly update that adds cosmetics, rarely something good, and bugs and glitches (sometimes), a more financial approach would be to make monthly updates that add something new and interesting, fix bugs and glitches that are reported to you (you can fix more at a time this way), and spend less money (I would only guess). Instead of adding a variant of a gun that already exists, add a completely new and original gun. That's as far as I'm going to go with it but I'm sure you can think of more things since you are a professional company. Para7 is about the map. I'm sure you get this a lot, but at this point, you just clogged the map. Sure, the map IS diverse, but it's ruining the nostalgic feeling you get when you play. Make another map! Sorry to bring up PUBG, but I think you could learn things from what they created and add it into your BR game. Para8 kind of contradicts Para7 but I just needed to mention it. The whole Idea of transportation is cool and all, but not a lot of OG's like it (Which is the side I'm with). The rover just makes this a cartoony PUBG and people (Including me) would much rather play PUBG since you just made it into that, just with cartoony graphics. Sorry if I sound a little unprofessional, but that's not what this essay is about, it's about fixing your, to some people dead, to some people dying, and to some people "Meh" (ETC) game.
